Allison Zupan Wins CVS-ACS SURF Award for Summer 2019

Allison Zupan, an undergraduate researcher in the Pinkhassik Lab finishing up her sophomore year, won a Summer Undergraduate Research Fund (SURF) Award from the Connecticut Valley Section of the American Chemical Society (CVS-ACS).  The SURF Award provides her with a $3500 stipend in the Pinkhassik Lab for Summer 2019.  She will be presenting a poster representing her research at the 2020 CVS-ACS Undergraduate Research Symposium in April.

Victoria Livingston Wins CVS-ACS SURF Award for Summer 2019

Victoria Bozhulich wins SURF Award for Summer 2019

Victoria Bozhulich, an undergraduate researcher in the Pinkhassik Lab finishing up her sophomore year, won a Summer Undergraduate Research Fund (SURF) Award from the Office of Undergraduate Research at the University of Connecticut.  The SURF Award provides her with a $3500 stipend and $500 for materials for her project work in the Pinkhassik Lab from June 10 – August 16, 2019.

Weiyu Zhang Wins 2019 Summer DAAD Internship in Germany

In March 2019, Weiyu Zhang, a polymer chemistry Ph.D. student in the Pinkhassik Lab, was selected for a competitive 12-week internship with the Institute for Bioprocessing and Analytical Measurement Techniques in Heilbad Heiligenstadt, Germany.  The internship is supported by both the company and the DAAD RISE Professional program.  She will be working in Germany from May to August of 2019 on the basic characterization of an impedimetric biosensor for antibiotics.
